I think this must be my favourite shot, It might just be the gear though, I'm a bit of a Gibson fan.

But what does the head for the amp on the right say :O! :D.
The amp nameplate sez: "Fuchs"

There is no sound like that of a Gibson electric guitar and it's Humbucking pickups.

About 1/2 way through the gig he switched to a Fender. Although Fenders are definitely easier on the fingers, it totally changed the sound of the music - and not for the better IMHO. I was very happy when he switched back to the SG for the last last part of the set.

Humbukers can give you those nice bluesy tones (which I love), single coils always seem to be more crisp with a strong attack to me. I was a little disapointed that Clapton used fenders at the cream reunion gig... it would of been ncie to hear him on a gibson again. Everyone tells me that fenders are easier to play... it must be true but I find Gibson style necks much more comfortable :|.
Back when I thought I could be a rock star, I had a '69 "Black Beauty" Les Paul Custom. I always thought that it had the most velvet-smooth action of any guitar I ever played - even with the bridge raised to medium height. At about 20lbs, it did create a raw spot on my hip, but it was totally worth it for the sound that baby made. :P

I think the deal with the SG is that the fretboard is pretty wide compared to most electric guitars.

I never seem to have the time for guitar anymore, couldn't afford anything good the only items I actually own with a reliable brand name are my camera gear, my computer and my phone (which I didn't want or buy). I should get a job and start fixing that . Again, playing a les paul style guitar I don't mind the weight of the fretboard, wide fret boards just remind me of accoustics too much.

By the way, the black beauty is AWESOME.

IMHO, it was the sweetest electric guitar ever made.

I still like the B.B King Lucille, but saying that, I've never heard a black beauty being played, three humbuckers... nice.
I drove my mother out of her bloody mind with that guitar... :plotting:
